Bioetica da Bar è un progetto di storytelling (in italiano — è il mio modo di “riportare qualcosa a casa”) che trasforma dilemmi etici complessi in storie di cui si può parlare anche al bancone. Ogni puntata parte da un caso reale: medico, scientifico o storico, e arriva a una domanda che fa pensare, ridere, o entrambe le cose.
Il tono è a metà tra filosofo e barista: dissacrante ma serio, senza paroloni e senza prediche, con rispetto per i fatti e per le fragilità umane. È un modo per chiedersi cosa significhi davvero “curare”, “decidere”, “vivere”, senza fingere di avere risposte definitive.
Nato come esperimento di divulgazione bioetica, oggi è un laboratorio narrativo dove si parla di nasi ricostruiti con la pelle del braccio, intelligenze artificiali un po’ troppo convincenti, e medici che operano al buio per salvare una vita.
Perché capire l’etica non deve essere un privilegio per pochi: renderla pubblica, viva e accessibile è un dovere morale — e un passatempo divertente che mi costringere a leggere un sacco di articoli scientifici 🙂

Bioetica da Bar is a storytelling project (in Italian – it’s my way to “bring something back home”) that turns complex ethical dilemmas into stories you can actually talk about over a beer. Each episode starts from a real case: medical, scientific, or historical, and ends with the kind of question that keeps you awake at night (and maybe laughing a little).
The tone is half philosopher, half bartender: irreverent but rigorous, allergic to jargon, respectful of facts and of human messiness. It’s a place where we can ask what medicine, technology, and morality mean, without pretending to have the final answer.
Born as a small experiment in popular bioethics, it has become a way to explore the moral underbelly of science, from prosthetic noses in the Renaissance to AI bots debating ethics online.
Because understanding ethics shouldn’t be a privilege of experts: making it public, vivid, and accessible is a moral duty — plus, a fun hobby that forces me to keep reading papers 🙂
